I bought eight tulips the other day. Actually there come ten in a pack, but two alredy lost their bud in the shop. Of course, I got them cheaper…
The second day they opened up a bit. The ones on the windowsill would open quite a lot but the ones on my table actually never opened fully.
They stayed the same troughout the next days: day three, day four, day five. There was a little note attached to the tulips when I bought them. It said that these tulips are guaranteed to flower five days.
On the sixth day they just dried out and what was most strange, they closed their flower to a bud again. This one I painted was the only one that faded away and is loosing its petals.
Day 1: 31 x 22 cm; pencil, Winsor & Newton pink ink, Pentel brush pen on paper.
Day 2;3;6: 21 x 13 cm; pencil and Schminke watercolour on Moleskine paper.
Ich schreibe und ich reise. Mal bin ich ganz weit weg, mal erkunde ich meine Stadt oder nur meinen Block, manchmal reise ich durch mein Zimmer.
