Rosery
Built between 1544-1548, „Schloss Haldenstein“ shows the beginning of Renaissance in Graubünden. Its garden with the thick walls shows the splendor and power of the Renaissance era. The pleasure gardens are built upon artifical terraces, therefore they are also known as “ Hanging Gardens“. The garden holds a magnificant rosarium and until now they have planted up to 200 rosebushes. In the midst of nice smelling roses you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the bar or have a picnic on the lawn. Furthermore you have an awesome view over the Rhein wetland and the city of Chur.
